Billy had a brain aneurysm on Sunday 21 November and is currently in intensive care in Derriford Hospital, Plymouth. The aneurysm was caused by an arteriovenous malformation which means the blood vessels around his brain were not working properly. It is something he will have had from birth and not due to lifestyle. He has had surgery to remove the blood clot, which went well. He is in the icu in an induced coma. He had a procedure to identify the actual site of the avm and an operation to try and seal the site of the bleed but this was not successful. The team is going to try again soon . We currently don't know the extent of the damage to Billy's brain. He is in icu on ventilator and hooked up to tubes but hanging on in there.
